more mom & daughter time

we went and had some fun at the vintage whites sale.

they had lots and lots and lots.....and did i say lots of cool vintage stuff!

there was stuff from when i grew up....

stuff from when my mom grew up.....

stuff from when my grandma grew up....

oh the memories it brought back.

i only came out with 2 pair of earrings, though.

i missed my chance at a cookoo clock for only $12.

(and it still worked)

(and i've always wanted one)

oh well, i'll just have to come back next time and see if i can find one.

p.s. annie and i are always asked if we are sisters.....uh....yeah!



wedding quilt.....done!

 

this is ashley and derek's wedding quilt.

ok, it is just the top.

it still needs to be quilted, but....

the hard part is done!

 

i love seeing the end result of a quilt top!

it makes me excited to do another one.

i think i might have to keep this one for myself.

yay for quilting!

 lately, i have been sewing up a storm!

these are just a few things that i have been sewing.

there are a couple of other minky blankets, a snowman quilt, and an "eye spy" quilt that are missing.

i have had "sew" much fun making them.

there is nothing like the finished product or the finished quilt top.

ok, so the quilt top isn't quite finished, but it is a sneak preview!

this quilt top is for ashley and derek for their wedding!

yes, i know, i am a bit behind.....

but it should be done this week!!!!!

ashley and i did a quilt class together, yesterday.

that was really fun....pics coming soon.

it makes for a fun mom/daughter day!

jordan wagstaff leaves (again) for mission

we are so proud of him!

i feel like i sent one of my own out.

i have grown quite fond of jordan over the past 10 months that he has been home.

he would come and do our lawn and odd jobs for us...

for money, of course.....we did other things with him, too.

i didn't think i would get so emotional when i said goodbye,

but they are happy tears!

he worked hard and stuck with the plan to go back out,

which shows what kind of character he has.

he wrote us the sweetest letter and dropped it in the mailbox the morning he left.

trying again

here we go.....trying again to keep up the blog!

i really do like the idea of the blog.

i just can't seem to keep it going.

 

a lot has happened since i last wrote, so i will just start with today for now.

i do have to say the i have a wonderful sweetheart!

i sent him a message every hour on the 14 min. mark (i tried anyway) telling him why i love him.

here are some of the reasons why i love him....

 love you lots, mark!

 

you know you are not a good cook when......

last night i went to the grocery store looking for a roast for sunday dinner.

ran into a ward member and she told me how to do a roast over night that should come out moist and melt in your mouth good.

i took the roast home and seasoned it...

put it in the oven....

and was excited to see how it turned out!

 

Fast forward to early sunday morning....

i see mark wandering around our bedroom sniffing and looking for moab (our dog)

i asked him what he was looking for and his reply was....

where is moab and what is that smell?

(he was actually looking for an accident that moab may have done in our room)

i explained to him that there was a roast in the oven.

he climbed back in bed and tried to cover his sniffing mistake up

by telling me it smelled delicious. haha

it was pretty funny....it made me laugh ;0)

 

so...you know you are not a good cook when your husband gets up from a dead sleep

and is sniffing to see if the dog had an accident, when.....

in reality it is a roast cooking in the oven!

 

hahahahaha!

 

 

p.s. it didn't come out moist and melt in your mouth, either! ;0(
