quilt for ashley and derek - one year - done!

 

look back to one year ago.....

ashley gets engaged!

of course,  i tell her i will make a quilt for their wedding

she picks a pattern and we hurry and buy the fabric.

i get started...

"there are a lot of pieces!"

i sew and sew and help with wedding plans.

help some more with wedding plans.

it's not going to get done for the wedding,

but hopefully this summer.

need to make more blocks to make it a queen size.

need to put it away for a while....i think

i have quilting ADD!

have to get some help from a friend to square up blocks.

sew the rows together.

maybe it will be done by halloween.

need more fabric for the borders and the back.

search and search....order a few different kinds.

search some more....order some more.

find the backing at joann's fabric.

(fabric is very expensive!)

maybe it will be done for christmas or the new year.

finally sew on the borders.

get it quilted.....turned out beautiful.

maybe it will be done for their 1st anniversary!

give me a few days of general conference and ashley's helping hands

and we cranked out the binding by hand.

it is done!!

 (with one month to spare!!)

 

it turned out so good, i was hoping ashley would let me keep it!

no such luck!
